Are you aspiring to be an engineer?
If the answer is affirmative, then you must be aware of the fact that there are certain entrance examinations like JEE Mains and WBJEE that serve as the gateway to your career goal. Let’s talk a bit about WBJEE here.
WBJEE, that is, the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination, is a centrally administered test controlled by the state government and conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board. The said board was established in 1962 by the Government of West Bengal with the aim of selecting candidates for admission to undergraduate and postgraduate professional, vocational, and general degree courses in the state.
The main purpose of the exam is to allow deserving candidates admission to the undergraduate engineering colleges in West Bengal. The exam is an annual one. Besides, this exam also offers admission to medical and dental colleges in Bengal as well as at the central level.
Candidates may also enrol in architecture and pharmacy programmes at various colleges and universities in Bengal. The WBJEE syllabus focuses on the details of the three main subjects, namely, physics, chemistry, and mathematics.
All the questions in the WBJEE are in MCQ format; there will be at least four options against each question, and the questions will be divided into three categories. The duration is three hours for each paper. There is no upper age limit regarding the number of attempts a candidate can make to crack WBJEE.
